This is how we traveled...Big van, packed towed car, and my car..... gypsies tramps and thieves traveling out of Flagstaff, nearing the Grand Canyon, and on to Tucson.
After 6 years of marriage, 2 children, 2 more years at BYU, and 4 years at University of Utah Medical School, and now working at the Tucson Medical Center in Arizona, (bringing in his first paycheck) ....we can now call him Steven Parker Fowler, M.D. or just plain ...................
Dr. Fowler
Macy and Kami are wearing designer handsmocked dresses--made by my BYU roommate, Debbie Anderson Martin. Debbie does beautiful work. Kami (left) is actually wearing the dress Debbie made for Melissa when she was small.
Macy is the scamp of the Fowler family. Funny, BEAUTIFUL, smart and sneaky-clever. Can you ever say no to those eyes? When I was there recently and was putting her to bed, I had to get a little firm and tell her ...'you have got to go to sleep now!'...She told her dad later that Grandma was mean...then she said, well, she's almost mean..
Three pictures of Steve and Melissa....in the fall, both graduating from the U. of U., and at my house last summer.
Dad has an orchard of walnut and prunes in Los Molinos, California. He works hard every, every day. He is 86 and doing FINE! I love his phone calls every Sunday nights. I love him!
My dad, Richard Wood Call...great pensive pose. He has such a good face.
Picture taken in the 40's in Florida of my grandparents, Henry and Violet Call. They were fairlytale grandparents, with the farm and white house and horses and cows and wild cats and barn and chicken coops to explore. I loved my time there as a child, with all my 24 cousins, and later with my husband as a respite from classes at BYU. They were marvelous. They both lived 84 years.
I love this picture, although it was taken at a sad time. My father's sister and brothers gathered at the ranch in California for the funeral of my mother on March 29, 1995. Recently, my Aunt Elizabeth passed away and they all gethered again for her funeral in Salt Lake. They are, in birth order: Richard (my dad), Elizabeth, Steve, Jay & H.D.
This is my oldest granddaughter, Kami. Her middle name is a combination of Nan and Anne, her grandmothers. She is a wonderful little person. She is very bright..she gives church talks from memory, and sings solos in Primary. Her parents are Steve and Melissa, but she runs the family.
Melissa graduated from the University of Utah in June with her Masters in Nursing...Now she is working in the nursing education program in Tucson a few days a week.
Christian spent Thanksgiving at Grandpa's ranch in California....his cousins were there, too. Candace (in blue) is my brother Brad's daughter......a freshman at Southern Virginia University. Rebecca (in beige)is my brother Dayton's daughter...... a student at the University of California at San Francisco.
I'm back blogging and will try to add something each week. I'll be better this time since the last time I blogged, 8 mos. went by before I added on. I'll start with a few pictures of Christian. This was a game between Ogden High and Morgan High. Christian got in some good playing time.
