Cover Girl

I opened up the newspaper yesterday and there it is again! Melissa and Kami and Macy are Cover Girls..... AGAIN

The Pioneer Woman

My daughter gave me this book for Christmas, and, no offence to anyone, but it's been my FAVORITE gift... it reads like a novel, and the food is great.... She combines my three favorite things... horses, photography, and great recipes.

Melissa gave her daughters the opportunity to earn money to buy Christmas presents. Here was their duty & pay sheet:
We know Christian is a closet Twilight fan.. probably Team Bella...
Melissa and Steve and the kids sent us a fabulous box... filled with gifts from A - Z literally!
Here's Gary opening "H" Santa is giving his approval that he was a VERY good boy this year.
The cat opened his fav gift of all.... a jar of catnip. After rolling around in it and yeowling weirdly, he is now standing in a stupor thinking... please, just let me claw at that tree...

Christian House on Christmas Day

Where are my gifts? Open Open Open.. What a son! Almost 18.. He's started college this year, studying Computer Tech.... He sure helps me with my computer snags.

Back Again

Anne Call, Jill Adema, MaryBeth Woods, Debbie Zimmerman, Toni Kerber, Joan Johnson, Cathy Yuen & Tina Hammond...

This picture was taken 3 years ago when I met with 8 high school girlfriends at a cabin at Lake Tahoe. These are outstanding women---still... but think of us (ok, maybe just me)40 years ago: running amok, ironing our hair, fretting over zits, chasing boys, cheering at games, studying for finals... It's funny to think that a lifetime of getting an education, snagging our man, building careers, raising kids, becoming grandparents, and enduring and overcoming trials has all happened in that time....

I haven't written in my family blog for a long time because I have been been busy with two other blogs...one is a the transcription of my grandparents' love letter back and forth from WW1... they are so wonderful, and sweet, and historical, and a bit steamy. Click on the sidebar for a peek.

Also, I began a classroom blog.. which has been great for the kids and their parents and anyone who loves literature... but the school district, in their infinite wisdom, as usual, has figured that they need to keep the children safe from us, so it's being blocked at the end of January...even though they're the ones who paid for the summer-blog-learning-training for hundreds of teachers. The same district that can't seem to find money to buy books for my classroom....brilliant... It was such an effective tool. Take a look before they squash it: http://mrshouseenglishliterature.blogspot.com
