My brother Dayton's daughter, Rebecca... can't see her front view, but she's really beautiful--- trust me, and so is Champlin Creek that runs through my folks' ranch. Love these wonderful canoe rides we've all taken. Lots of beaver, otter, blue herons, white egrets, occasionally an eagle, and once.. a mountain lion. but mostly, just frogs and small fish.

My Crosby English Saddle
I bought a Crosby English saddle. I've ridden more English style than western, thanks to Mom, who sent me to a riding school when I lived in Fresno. I loved the dressage, black velvet helmet, jauphers, crop, spurs... and then posting with a ramrod straight back, then jumping over the rails.... there's nothing like it. I felt like Caroline Kennedy sittin' all tall & proud in the saddle .... I have a bridle, too, so now all I need is the horseflesh. Giddy-up...

Les Miserables
Poor little Cosette...
Now you know why I love going to work each day... we have already spent a week on this wonderful book... last Friday was Chapter 6 ... the confrontation between the good bishop and the hardened convict, Jean Valjean. Ahhhhhh can't wait to get into my classroom and pick up the book again.

Start of a New School Year
Here's where I spend my mornings..... Periods 1,2,3 & 4 English Literature, Room 220. I just bought a great new lens for my camera.. a fisheye.. or wide angle lens... it actually cost more than my Canon 50D body... geez... but I sure love it. I have taken several large family shoots this week... and they all fit into the picture without me backing way up, and the focus is grand! I made the students stand outside while I took these shots.. with my wide angle. By the way.. I have such GREAT students this year and smaller classes. YEA
